Introduction
Promises I Made Myself from Lowtide was a beer I found at the Pien Bottle Shop in Helsinki. It was actually not one of their cans or bottles, they actually had this non-alcoholic craft beer on tap. I was pretty impressed with that and you should definitely check out my Pien Review. I also got a pint for just 3€.
This is actually a beer that Lowtide has made in collaboration with a brewery called Newton Park Brewery. Lowtide actually has quite an interesting history. The founders basically could not find a website that stocked all their favorite alcohol free craft beers. They decided to start their own website called Crafty AF. Eventually, the project turned into a brewery that only makes non-alcoholic craft beers. They’re operating from Bath, United Kingdom, and were founded in 2021.
Newton Park Brewery, on the other hand, is from Bristol and was founded in 2020.
Tasting Notes
I’m still quite early on my NA craft beer adventures so I haven’t had the chance to try too many. However, this was a beer that I really enjoyed.
On the board it just said it was a non-alcoholic IPA but nothing more. It’s clearly a west coast IPA and it both smells and tastes good. Decently strong aroma of pine and a medium body. Quite high on the carbonation but not in a bad way. Taste of pine and grapefruit – exactly the combination I like.
