Tasting Notes

This beer pours surprisingly hazy. I had not expected that at all. The aroma is all of lemongrass so it actually feels like the double dry-hopping is a bit unnecessary.

It does taste a bit like beer-flavoured water and not really in a good way. It is just a bit too watery for my liking. The Ohana actually smells like lime and the taste reminds me of weak lemonade. There are some elements of canned pineapple as well. Carbonation is a bit on the low side.

Nutrition

The back of a can of Ohana from Lowtide Brewing Company

The Ohana has 10 kcal per 100 ml. We had it in a 440 ml can which means there is about 44 kcal in a can which we would consider a low-calorie beer. As usual, the beers from Lowtide Brewing are vegan but not gluten-free.

Our Verdict of Ohana

The Ohana is an exciting beer but it is definitely not one of our favourites. It is a drinkable beer although I much preferred their West Coast Hop Lock and Promises I Made Myself. It is too watery and the flavours do not taste fresh. Canned pineapple and lime isn´t the flavour profile I am looking for in my beers.

Our non-alcoholic craft beer rating: 21/50
